Accounts Payable Clerk (Hilo)

SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining accounts payables vendors and their balances due.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

Reviews and prepares invoices for accounts payable posting.

Accurately codes and posts invoices and journal entries, provides reporting using accounting software (ex. QuickBooks Online) and provides reporting as needed.

Reconciles vendor statements and reviews employee reimbursements for accuracy.

Issues checks to payees approved for payment.

Works with vendors as necessary and maintains vendor records including certificates of insurance and W9s.

Assists with duties such as receiving of customer payments when Accounts Receivable clerk is unavailable.

Orders office supplies, coordinates document disposal, sorts and distributes incoming mail, coordinates items for courier pickups, and updates postage machine.

Takes initiative to continuously improve by developing and implementing new processes and procedures and learning to use new software and tools.

Operates office machines such as computer, printer, paper shredder, typewriter, adding machine, calculator, and copier/facsimile.

Maintains professional appearance and neat work area.

Assists in answering incoming phone calls, taking and distributing messages.

Other duties may be assigned.

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Full time position with Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K for eligible employees.
